Although scholars have proposed diverse ways to combat supply chain problems, these efforts lack an integrated lean construction supply chain (LCSC) model. Given the persistent resource constraints characterizing the construction industry, this study reconceptualizes an LCSC model for deployment to drive out waste. A critical review of relevant literature was conducted to identify which lean supply chain model predominates in construction in order to develop an LCSC model that integrates lean construction tools and supply chain strategies that were found to proffer better solutions. The paper offers novel theoretical insights that lay a foundation for subsequent empirical and practical implications for LCSC efficiency.
